Archie Grafton Of Bushnell Dies

Archie D. Grafton, 77, of 695 E. Wells St., Bushnell, died at 8:28 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 1990, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Nov. 9, 1912, near Rushville, a son of Jess and Anna May Busby Grafton. He married Estelle Mapheny on March 6, 1935. He later married Alice Butler, who survives.

Also surviving are twin daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Lula Belle) Pate of Beardstown and Mrs. LeRoy (Linda Lou) Ayers of Galesburg; a granddaughter, Mrs. Larry (Glenna) Lung of Alton, whom he reared; two sisters, Mrs. Marietta Shields and Mrs. Pearl Taylor, both of Astoria; one brother, Robert of Peoria; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

He was a construction worker and a timber buyer before retiring.

Funeral services were to be held at 10:30 a.m. this morning at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell with Rev. Ronald Ingram officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Canton.
