Marietta Shields, 65, of Astoria, died at 4:43 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 1996, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born Dec. 5, 1930, in Schuyler County, a daughter of Jesse and Mae Busby Grafton. She married Marshall L. Shields on Dec. 24, 1949, in Astoria. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Marcia) Chambers of Lewistown, Mrs. Albert (Marsha) Bucher and Mrs. Phil (Marlena) Poppenhager, both of Astoria; one son, Martin of Astoria; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Grafton of Bartonville.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
She worked in the Fulton County Clerkâs Office for several years.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Tim Worstell officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery in Summum.
