Oscar Greb Dies At Age 91

Oscar J. K. Greb, 91, of 713 E. Adams, Havana, died at 3:35 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 1980, in the Americana Nursing Center in Macomb.

Born Oct. 21, 1888, in Chandlerville, a son of Henry and Katherine Schneider Greb, he first married Lucy Vollmer. She preceded him in death as did one brother.

He married Nelda Dallman Dec. 3, 1940 and she survives, along with one daughter, Mrs. Lyman (Alice Marie) Blessman of Chandlerville; one son, Charles of Nashville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three stepdaughters, Mrs. Jo Anne Lane of Chandlerville, Mrs. Margaret Dean of Astoria, and Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell of Macomb.

Mr. Greb was a meat cutter at Morgan’s Super Market in Havana, 30 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hurley Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Purdy officiating. Burial was in Chandlerville Cemetery.
