Margaret "Peg" FranceMargaret A. “Peg” France, 88, of Astoria died at 8:11 p.m. April 18, 2018, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

She was born Jan. 27, 1930, in Chandlerville, a daughter of Gustav and Nelda Keith Dallmann. She married William G. Dean on Dec. 12, 1948, in Chandlerville. He preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 1982. She then married Willard G. France in 1984. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Stephen (and Carol) Dean and Scott (and Brenda) Dean, both of Astoria; one daughter, Kathryn (and Bob) Bridges of Astoria; two stepdaughters, Teresa (and Rick) Blythe of Springfield and Janine (and Steve) Danner of Astoria; one stepson, Joe (and Tana) France of Astoria; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Deanna Jo Dean; and two sisters, JoAnn Lane and Elizabeth Campbell.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Havana, the ACBL Bridge where she was a Life Master and the PEO Chapter Y in Havana. She was a former member of the Astoria Home Extension and County Board. She was active on several advisory committees for the Astoria Schools and served as a tutor. She was a 4-H leader for many years and was a Cub Scout Den Mother.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Kevin Wendorf officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
