Pauline FordPauline J. Ford, 93, of Macomb, formerly of Vermont, died at 11:17 a.m. March 18, 2018, at Bickford Cottage in Macomb.

She was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Vermont, the daughter of Glenn and Iva Hayes Danner. She married F. Jerry Ford on Oct. 9, 1946, in Astoria. He preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1998.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Dinah Ford.

Surviving are three daughters, Gwen (and Duane) Easley of Englewood, Fla., Kathy (and Rick) Heller of Canton and Cindy Ford of Vermont; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She graduated from Vermont High School in 1943. She would then become a graduate of Gem City Business College in Quincy. After graduating, she was a secretary in the commander’s office at Camp Ellis until it closed. She was an active part of the farms. She also worked for Bybee’s Dime Store in Vermont as a clerk.

She was a member of Carroll Rankin American Legion Post 26 Ladies Auxiliary in Vermont and Vermont United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for 60 years and held many offices in the church.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at her church with Pastor Bennett A. Woods officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Thursday. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to her church or Vermont American Legion Auxiliary.
