She was born April 17, 1951, in Macomb, a daughter of Floyd Jerry and Pauline June Danner Ford.
Surviving are her mother of Vermont; three sisters, Gwen (and Duane) Easley of Englewood, Fla., Kathy (and Rick) Heller of Canton and Cindy Ford of Vermont; four nephews; five nieces; five great-nieces; and three great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents.
She was a full-time teacher in Joliet and San Francisco, Calif. She also worked as a nanny.
She was a 1969 graduate of Industry High School and a 1973 graduate of Illinois State University. She attended graduate school at Western Illinois University in Macomb. She was a member of Vermont Methodist Church. She moved back to Illinois to be closer to her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at the Vermont American Legion with Mike Shirley officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
