Larry "Lance" FloydLarry L. “Lance” Floyd, 66, of Carthage, formerly of Rushville, died at 12:20 a.m. March 27, 2017, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.

He was born June 13, 1950, in Springfield, a son of Kenneth L. and Virginia C. Sokolis Floyd. He married Carla Peacock on April 23, 2005, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Jamie Floyd Lane (and companion Marty Thompson) of Rushville; one stepdaughter, Amy (and Cory) Johnson of Carthage; two stepsons, Corey Ingles (and fiancé Andrea Mellor) of Rushville and John Lawrence (and Cece) Peacock of Carthage; one sister, Jeanette (and Kim) Plaster of Sherman; two brothers, Jerald “Jerry” (and Ruth Ann) Floyd of Blandinsville and Kenneth Allen Floyd of Springfield; two grandchildren; and three step grandchildren.

He was a United States Marine Corp. veteran serving in Vietnam.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association and operated Pioneer Taxidermy several years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. John Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery with Military Honors by Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and a U.S. Marine Corp. Honor Detail. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
