Ida Isobel Fordyce, 89, of Havana, formerly of Vermont, died at 2:17 a.m. Nov. 12, 2014, at Mason District Hospital Emergency Room in Havana.

She was born April 21, 1925, in Ray, a daughter of Hal and Rose Etta Ashcraft Skiles. She married Stanley Fordyce on Aug. 6, 1965, in Springfield. He preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 1999.

She also was preceded in death by one son, H. Kyle Fordyce; one grandson, Andrew Fordyce; one sister, Vivian Jewitt; and two brothers, Hal Burton Skiles and Roger Skiles.

Surviving are five sons, Ronnie (and Diane) Brown of Havana, Michael (and Vanessa) Fordyce of Baxter, Minn., Darryl (and Darla) Fordyce of Marshfield, Mo., Bradley Fordyce of Brainerd, Minn., and Juss (and Barbera) Fordyce of Minnetonka, Minn.; three daughters, Virginia (and Larry) Green of Caseyville, Cheryl Boggs of Havana and Tamara (and Gary) Mathiowetz of Brainerd, Minn.; two sisters, Rosie (and Jim) Baer and Sandy (and Ted) Stambaugh, both of Rushville; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and worked at Ken-Ray Foundry in Vermont from 1962-65.

She was a member of Vermont American Legion Auxiliary and United Methodist Church in Vermont where she was active in the women’s Auxiliary.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Steve Hoover officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.
