She was born Oct. 23, 1936, in Ray, a daughter of Hallie and Rosetta Ashcraft Skiles. She married Jim R. Baer on July 5, 1963, in Rushville. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Joseph Baer and Phillip (and Robin) Baer, both of Peoria, and Jon Baer of Sparks, Nev.; one daughter, Ann Margaret (and Butch) Wyman of East Peoria; one sister, Sandy (and Ted) Stambaugh of Rushville; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Vanessa Lea Baer; two sisters, Vivian Juett and Ida Isobel Fordyce; and two brothers, Hal Burton Skiles and Roger Skiles.
She retired from OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria where she worked as a Registered Nurse for 25 years in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Greg Fish officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday.
