Delbert "Bud" FawcettDelbert “Bud” Fawcett, 87, of Ipava died at 1:30 p.m. July 23, 2014, at his home.

He was born Jan. 16, 1927, in Ipava, a son of Lessley W. and Bertha E. Belville Fawcett. He married Wanda R. Cooper on Dec. 11, 1948, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Betty (and Jaime) Cercone of Lewistown and Barbara Jones of Macomb; three sons, Bob (and Brenda) Fawcett of Table Grove, Bill Fawcett of Marietta and Ben (and Gretchen) Fawcett of Ipava; two sisters, Mary Morrell of Canton and Susie (and Buck) French of Havana; four brothers, Paul (and Mary) Fawcett of Frederick, Lessley (and Jane) Fawcett Jr. of Beardstown, Robert (and Mary) Fawcett of Havana and Merlyn (and Connie) Fawcett of Canton, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin and William Fawcett; and one sister, Beatrice Howard.

He farmed and worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company in East Peoria for 30 years, retiring in 1985.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1945-47 with a rank of Technician 4th grade.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge #104 of Lewistown, Mohammed Shrine of Bartonville, 32nd degree Mason ANSAR Shrine Valley of Peoria, American Legion Post #17 of Ipava, Lewistown VFW #5001, Illinois Sheriffs Association, UAW Local #974 of Peoria and Berean Christian Church in Ipava.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Doug Krukewitt officiating. Masonic rites were provided by Lewistown Masonic Lodge #104. Burial was in Harris Cemetery in Table Grove with military rites provided by Ipava American Legion Post #17.
