Lozelle Fuqua

Lozelle FuquaLozelle Fuqua, 85, of Rushville died at 5:25 p.m. Feb. 26, 2008, at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

He was born Sept. 19, 1922, in Schuyler County, a son of Charles and Lillian Scherrer Fuqua. He married June Royer on March 17, 1946, in Virginia. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Randall (and Sarah) Fuqua and Steve (and Debbie) Fuqua, both of Rushville; four daughters, Cynthia (and Fonzy) Hay of Rushville, Gloria Fuqua of Merritt Island, Fla., Sheila (and Rod) Cain of Rushville and Debra (and David) Carlock of Mount Sterling; one brother, William (and Shirley) Fuqua of Mount Sterling; two sisters, Vivian (and Glen) Trone of Walnut and Marian Anderson of Rushville; six grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Ann Fuqua; one son, Roger Lozelle Fuqua; one grandson, Damon Kessler; and one brother, Richard Fuqua.

He was a farmer all of his life.

He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville and Schuyler County Farm Bureau.

Services were held Saturday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. John Sowers officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to his church or Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
