Gloria FuquaGloria Jean Fuqua, 64, of Rushville died at 9:55 a.m. June 8, 2016, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born Nov. 12, 1951, in Rushville, a daughter of Lozelle and June Royer Fuqua.

Surviving are her children, Kelly (and Matthew) Sommers of Roswell, Ga., and Kyle (and Hayley) Clayton of Marseilles; her mother, June Fuqua of Rushville; two brothers, Randall (and Sarah) Fuqua and Steve (and Debbie) Fuqua, both of Rushville; two sisters, Sheila (and Rod) Cain of Rushville and Debra (and David) Carlock of Mount Sterling; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father; one son, Damon Kessler; two sisters, Cynthia Hay and Betty Ann Fuqua; and one brother, Roger Lozelle Fuqua.

A 1969 graduate of Rushville High School, she attended Gem City Business College in Quincy.

She worked as an administrative assistant for Schuyler-Brown FS in Rushville for years. In 1988, she moved to Florida and in 1989 began her career with Boeing Aerospace in Cape Canaveral, retiring in 2010. After her retirement, she moved back to Rushville.

She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville.

Memorial services were held Monday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Reverend John Sowers officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the University of Florida Shands Hospitals, who performed and cared for her during her liver transplant in 1995 or Culbertson Memorial Hospital Foundation.
