Wanda FrenchWanda A. French, 62, of Astoria died at 6:42 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born March 28, 1941, in Rushville, a daughter of James and Leona Osborn Peterman. She married Bernard L. French on July 8, 1960, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Kim (and Rob) Oldfield of Quincy and Rebecca (and Glen Jr.) Patrick of Petersburg; one son, Gary of Mount Sterling; two brothers, James (and Helen) Peterman of Rushville and David (and Dee) Peterman of Astoria; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, John, Vern and Glen Peterman.

She first worked at Dennis Hatchery in Augusta and later was an assembler at Motorola in Quincy. She also was a hairdresser and owned and operated Kountry Kurl in Astoria for more than eight years.

Services were held Saturday at Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville with Rev. Mary Arnold officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
