Verne E. Peterman, 55, of LeRoy, died at 11:16 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 1997, at the St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

He was born May 24, 1942, in Beardstown, a son of James T. and Leona Osborne Peterman. He was married to Carol Bridgewater Peterman for 21 years. She survives in Astoria.

Also surviving are one son, Alan Peterman and one daughter, Diane Peterman, both of Astoria; his friend, Donna Marlin of LeRoy, with whom he made his home; one sister, Wanda French of Astoria; and three brothers, James Peterman of Rushville, Glenn Peterman of Petersburg, and Dave Peterman of Astoria.

He was preceded in death by one brother, John.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1964 and was a construction supervisor for Dillon Enterprises in Lemont.

Services were held Tuesday at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to his family or the donor’s choice.
