GENEVIEVE V. (DOBSON) FORD

Mrs. Genevieve V. Ford, 72, of Astoria, died at 3:10 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 1996, in her home.

She was born May 3, 1923, in Mason County, a daughter of Cecil and Blanche (Barndollar) Dobson. she married Elmer R. Ford Oct. 18, 1941, in Fulton County. He preceded her in death Oct. 28, 1986. She was also preceded in death by one brother.

She is survived by seven sons, Charles E. Ford of Urbana, Ohio, Richard Ford of Canton, Michael Ford of Smithfield, Pat and Pete Ford, both of Astoria, Kenneth Ford of Cuba, and James Ford of Quincy; three daughters, Mrs. Janice Dick of Lewistown, Mrs. Jean Peters and Mrs. Debbie Sue Dick, both of Astoria; 37 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Julius “Dobby” Dobson of Havana and Howard Dobson of Pleasant Plains; and one sister, Wilma “Dorothy” Pratt of Havana.

Mrs. Ford was a member of the Astoria Assembly of God Church.

Funeral services were held this morning at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Phil Derry and Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery at Astoria.

Memorials may be made to the Spoon River Hospice.
