Richard FordRichard W. Ford, 77, of Havana died at 9:09 p.m. Jan. 20, 2024, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

He was born Aug. 15, 1946, a son of Elmer and Genevieve Dobson Ford. He married Rose Davis on Nov. 4, 2006, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Theresa (and Rick) Abbadusky of Clarksville, Tenn., Leota (and Fred) Carrigan of Norris, Thomas Zeglen of Canton, Misty (and Dick) Brown of Banner, Kristina Berry of Brereton, Jason Ford of Nashville, Tenn., J.R. (and Daphne) Smith of Bath, Lucas (and Kristen) Gebhardt of Springfield and Samuel (and Kristen) Donovan of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; six brothers, Charles Ford of Springfield, Ohio, Michael (and Debbie) Ford of Smithfield, Patrick Ford of Mississippi, Steven “Pete” (and Kim) Ford of Ipava, Kenneth (and Lori) Ford of Lewistown and James (and Billie) Ford of Tennessee; two sisters, Jean Peters and Debbie (and Randy) Ward, both of Astoria; 31 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Trisha Smith; and one sister, Janice Dick.

He was a United States Army Veteran, serving from 1968-69. He was a member of the Lewistown VFW Post 5001.

He was man of many talents with his last employment at Caterpillar in Peoria, working for Securitas.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Woodland Cemetery in Astoria with Pastor John Vaughn officiating. Military Rites will be provided by the Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and the Astoria American Legion Post #25. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.
