Roy Lee Frye, 66, of Vermont, died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Apr. 24, 1980, at Culbertson Hospital in Rushville.
He was born May 26, 1913, in Vermont, the son of Edward and Lela Chipman Frye. He married Betty Danner on June 15, 1940, in Palmyra, Mo.
He was a retired State of Illinois employee and a retired Fibra Steel worker. He was a painter and decorator for 20 years.
Surviving are his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Dixie Rettenmair of Mount Holly, N.J., Mrs. Kelly Longmire of Macomb and Mrs. Kris Fawcett of Vermont; three grandchildren; and one brother, Max P. of Sebastion, Fla.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Graveside services were held at the Vermont Cemetery at 10 a.m. Saturday with Collis Trone officiating.
