Christie EylerChristie D. Eyler, 60, of Rushville died at 10:25 p.m. Jan. 20, 2021, at OSF Healthcare in Peoria.

She was born Oct. 26, 1960, in Lincoln, Neb., a daughter of Waldeen M. and Janet M. Krehbiel Epp. She married Steve Eyler on May 27, 1979, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are her mother; one daughter, Amy (and Ryan) Knox of Athens; one son, Eric (and Erica) Eyler of Dardenne Prairie, Mo.; two brothers, Dr. Larry Epp of Pasadena, Calif., and Jeffrey (and Denise) Epp of Bedford, Texas; one sister, Becky (and David) Adams of Mason City; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She received her BA from Bradley University. She was an administrative assistant for University Relations at Western Illinois University.

She accepted Christ when she was age five. She was a member of Rushville First Christian Church, where she was a junior choir director for over 30 years. She also was part of Ye Olde Madrigal Singers since its inception.

She was a statistics clerk for the Rushville/Industry High School track team. She was a 19-year breast cancer survivor and was in chronic pain for 22 years, but she was generous with her time and her talents.

Cremation has been accorded. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at Rushville First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Rev. Brant Reed officiating. Inurnment will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville.
