Wally EppWaldeen M. “Wally” Epp, 84, of Rushville died at 12:15 p.m. May 30, 2020, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 10, 1936, near Henderson, Neb., a son of Peter H. and Ottillie Peter Epp. He married Janet Krehbiel on March 4, 1956, in Pretty Prairie, Kan. She survives.

Also surviving are four children, Christie (and Steve) Eyler of Rushville, Dr. Larry Epp of Pasadena, Calif., Becky (and David) Adams of Mason City and Jeffrey (and Denise) Epp of Bedford, Texas; two brothers, Delvyn (and Lucy) Epp of Canada and Kenneth (and Deana) Epp of Henderson, Neb.; one sister, Rosella (and Ray) Epp-Reimer of Newton, Kan.; seven grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, LaMoine Epp.

He attended Bethel College in Newton, Kan., and Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan., where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Engineering.

He worked 43 years in the food and refrigeration industry, designing large and small projects in 38 states, Canada and Puerto Rico.

He grew up in a Mennonite family and was steadfast in his faith. He was instrumental in starting the Rushville flag football program and coached youth teams, including Little League and Pony League.

Due to the current health circumstances a private service will be held with Rev. Brant Reed officiating. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Water for LIFE, which provides water wells for families in Africa or Rushville First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
