He was born Feb. 16, 1954, in Beardstown. He married Diane Fischer on March 20, 1971, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are his two children, Dr. Amy (and Dr. Eric) High of Riverton and Adam Edwards of Rushville; his father, Robert “Bob” Edwards of Rushville; his brothers and sisters, Joe (and Vickie) Edwards of Frederick, Terrie (and Mike) Loughary of Beardstown and Susan Crook and Martin (and Shari) Edwards, both of Rushville; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Bernita Edwards; and one sister, Tresa Binder.
He owned Steve Edwards Shop in Beardstown for over 40 years. He also was a lifelong welder. He also held a private pilot license.
He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association.
A memorial visitation was held Tuesday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.
