Otis EndresOtis F. Endres, 93, of Fairview died at 2:26 a.m. Nov. 14, 2014, at Heartland Health Care in Canton.

He was born Aug. 1, 1921, in Fulton County, a son of Floyd and Verna Danner Endres. He married Freida Shawgo in Ipava on April 20, 1946. She preceded him in death on May 28, 2014.

He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Hanlin; one infant son, William Endres; one infant grandson, Wade Hanlin; one brother, Delbert Endres; and one sister, Mildred Rohrer.

Surviving are six children, Jim Endres (Gloria Bradford), David (and Martha) Endres, Rodney Endres, Kevin (and Trisha) Endres, Debbie (Mike) Canevit, all of Fairview, and Marsha (and Rick) Dierdorff of Somonauk; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Fairview American Legion.

He worked throughout his lifetime as a farmer in Fulton County and also worked at International Harvester in Canton for 19 years.

He was a member of Fairview Fire Department for over 20 years serving as fire chief and district chief.

Services were held Tuesday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Burial with military honors was held at Fairview Cemetery.
