Delbert E. Endres, 89, of Lewistown died at 12:01 p.m. April 27, 2013, at Red Oak Estates in Canton.

He was born June 30, 1923, in Vermont, a son of Floyd and Verna Danner Endres. He married Wavalee Gray on Jan. 12, 1946, in Canton. She preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 1996.

He also was preceded in death by one sister and one niece.

Surviving are one son, Larry (and Joyce) Endres of Herrin; one brother, Otis (and Freida) Endres of Fairview; two step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and one special friend, Lila Huff of Lewistown.

He farmed in the Lewistown area for over 50 years. He served on Lewistown Township Board for over 50 years. He was a co-leader of Jolly Workers 4-H Club of Lewistown for 20 years and served as a special deputy to Sheriff Jim Elam.

He was a World War II veteran and a member of Lewistown United Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be held at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with Reverend Deryck Sonaram officiating. Military rites will be accorded by Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and American Legion Bishop Post 1. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the memorial home in Lewistown.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
