Robbie ErvinRobbie V. Williams Ervin, 94, of Rushville died at 4:50 a.m. April 19, 2014, at Wesley Village in Macomb.

She was born June 10, 1919, near Sheridan Crittendon County, Kentucky, a daughter of Robert Lee Williams and Carrie Hurley Williams. She married Marshall H. Ervin of Cape Girardeau, Mo., on March 22, 1936. He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2001.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Jim Ervin; two sisters, Elizabeth Thomas and Melville Lynn; and three brothers, Fred Williams, Rawls Williams and Ray Williams.

Surviving are two sons, Marshall L. Ervin of Macomb and Dennis G. (and Deborah) Ervin of Pace, Fla.; one daughter, Patti (and Dick) Boyd of Rushville; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

As a pastor’s wife, she served in many leadership roles in United Methodist churches and communities throughout central Illinois where she and her husband lived. She was active in Conference and District organizations. She was awarded a life membership in United Methodist Women. She participated in the community Woman’s Civic Clubs, Hospital Service Guilds, Cub Scouts and Home Extension groups.

She co-authored a book on family life with her husband in 1998. She was educated in Cape Girardeau, Mo., schools.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rushville.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at her church with Rev. J. William Warner officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville.
