She was born April 16, 1944, in Lexington, Ky., the daughter of Dr. Marshall H. and Robbie V. Williams Ervin. She married John Richard “Dick” Boyd on Dec. 16, 1962, in Rushville. He survives.
Also surviving are two children, Rick (and Sue) Boyd of Rushville and Lissa Boyd of Silver Lake, Kan.; two brothers, Marshall Ervin of Macomb and Dennis (and Deb) Ervin of Pace, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Ervin.
She was a member of Littleton United Methodist Church.
She retired from the United States Postal Service as Post Master of the Littleton Post Office in April of 2004, and was a farm wife.
Funeral services were held Friday at her church with Rev. Rob Kirkham and Mr. David Haney officiating. Burial followed in Rushville City Cemetery. Worthington Funeral Home of Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
