Doris J. Derry, 95, of El Paso, formerly of Macomb and Ipava, died at 10:31 p.m. Nov. 3, 2025, at the Arc of El Paso.
She was born April 26, 1930, in Ipava, a daughter of John and Mary Smith Lalicker. She married Kenneth E. Derry on Aug. 14, 1949, in Ipava. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2018.
She also was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Windsor; and one brother, Delbert Lalicker.
Surviving are three sons, John (and Jane) Derry of Denton, Texas, James (and Sandy) Derry of Bloomington and Mark (and Cindy) Derry of Lisle; one daughter, Joann Prunty of Glen Ellyn; one sister, Linda Danner; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was a cook at Ipava Grade School before working at Western Illinois University as a Child Care Assistant. She then worked at the Western Illinois University library in the cataloging area, retiring in 1998.
She was a member of Berean Christian Church in Ipava, Maple Avenue Christian Church in Macomb and Eastview Christian Church in Bloomington.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Brad Punty officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Ipava Cemetery at a later date.
