John H. Lalicker Dies At Age 70

John Henry Lalicker, 70, of Route 1, Astoria (Summum), died at Graham Hospital in Canton on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 1979.

He was born Mar. 5, 1908, at Ipava, a son of Chauncey and Anna Forsythe Lalicker. From age two, he was raised by John and Mary Forsythe, his aunt and uncle.

He married Mary Smith Nov. 21, 1927, at Springfield.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Delbert Lalicker of Pinckneyville; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Windsor of Canton, Mrs. Doris Derry of Ipava, and Mrs. Linda Danner of DuQuoin; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Maurice Lalicker of Adair; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Groff of Browning and Mrs. Carrie Sears of Ipava; two half-brothers, Raymond Lalicker of Fresno, Calif., and Eugene Lalicker of Dunlap; two half-sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Gerard of Cuba and Mrs. Beverly Donaldson of East Peoria.

Two brothers preceded him in death.

He was a Woodland Township trustee at the time of his death. He was a member of Astoria Masonic Lodge 100, a retired farmer and boilermaker.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home with Rev. John L. Derry officiating. Burial was in the Summum Cemetery.

Masonic services were conducted at the memorial home Friday evening.
