He was born Nov. 24, 1959, in Rushville, a son of Ralph Dwayne and Rita Maxine Eckroy Downs. He married Lisa Beck on July 28, 1990, at Astoria Methodist Church. She survives.
Also surviving are one sister, Marsha Downs Wells of Newport Beach, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Jeffrey Dwayne Downs.
He graduated from Rushville High School with the class of 1977. After graduation he played traveling baseball for a short time. He attended Nevada Gaming School and graduated in January 1983. He worked at M and M Vending for 22 years. During those years he spent time keeping the vending and amusement machines working at WIU and various bars in the area.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Mr. David Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the CMH Foundation, Princess Theater or Schuyler Humane Society.
