Kent DrawveKent Myers Drawve, 65, of Rushville died at 12:20 p.m. Dec. 15, 2018, at his residence.

He was born March 22, 1953, in Beardstown, the son of Lyle and Arlys Myers Drawve. He married Sharon “Sherry” Fletcher on May 26, 1979, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are one stepson, Mike (and Nerissa) McClelland; one daughter, Allyson Drawve Thompson; one sister, Diane (and Kenny) Drawve Ward; three grandchildren; five nieces; two nephews; one great niece; three great nephews; and two great-great nieces.

He graduated from Rushville High School with the class of 1971. He worked at Rexroat Grocery Store in Rushville from 1971-74. He then went to work for Oscar Mayer in Beardstown. He opened Drawve Appliance and Video Store in 1984. In 1986, he enlarged the store to be Drawve’s Home Furnishing, Appliance and Videos which he operated until 1991. He got his real estate license in May of 1991 and worked at Illinois Valley Realty. While working there, he earned his appraisal license in May of 1992, his broker license in September of 2003 and managing broker license in February of 2010. He was made managing broker of Illinois Valley Realty in June of 2010 and worked in that capacity until retiring in 2014.

He was a member of Rushville First United Methodist Church. He was a founding member of Yorky Lake Wetlands Project and Gun Club. He was honored at the reunion of the Valley of Quincy, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry Fall Class of 2018 due to his dedication and active participation at his Blue Lodge, the Grand Lodge of Illinois and the Scottish Rite. His primary Masonic Lodge was Rushville #9, where he became a Master Mason in 1988. He also was affiliated with Vermont Lodge #116. He was Worshipful Master at Rushville Lodge in 1991-92. He held several Grand Lodge of Illinois positions over the years, including District Deputy Grand Master (9W), Western Area Assistant Deputy Grand Master, Blue Lightning Committee-Western coordinator and Grand Lodge instructor. He also was a member of the Leadership Development Committee for two years and had been a Grand Lecturer since 2003. He became a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason at the Valley of Quincy in 2000.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Masonic Rites to follow by Rushville Lodge #9 AF & AM. The service will conclude with the Apostle’s Creed recited by David Haney.
