George Derry Sr.George B. Derry, Sr., 76, of Industry died at 3:41 a.m. April 18, 2016, at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born March 16, 1940, in Brooklyn Township, Schuyler County, a son of Ivan Dale Sr. and Inna Vida Campbell Derry. He married Linda Pate on March 14, 1963, in Brooklyn, Ill. She survives.

Also surviving are 10 children, Pamela (and Bob) Shanty and George (and Diane) Derry Jr., both of Colchester, Kim Wertz of Pekin, Peggy (and Dale) Utter of Rushville, James Derry, Erika Derry and Khristy (and Caleb) Carney, all of Beardstown, Tim Derry of Macomb, Josh Buchanan of Industry and Misty (and Cody) Markley of Table Grove; four brothers, Richard Derry and Kermit Derry, both of Brooklyn, Carl (and Wanda) Derry of Goldsboro, N.C., and Art (and Millie) Derry of Augusta; one sister, Cora Mae Derry of Industry; 10 grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ivan Dale Derry Jr., Stanley Derry and David Derry; and two sisters, Lavera Derry and Joann Derry (an infant).

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He built homes for Fleetwood and was a foundry worker. He last worked at Argyle State Park in Colchester.

Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Fred Fritz officiating. Burial will follow in Brooklyn Cemetery with Military honors by Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and a U.S. Air Force honors detail. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.

Memorials may be made to his grandchildren’s college fund.
