She was born May 30, 1945, in Beardstown, a daughter of Clarence M. and Joyce Ileen VanHyning Pate. She married George Derry on March 14, 1963, in Brooklyn. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2016.
She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Lonnie, Pat and Sally.
Surviving are 10 children, Pamela (and Bob) Shanty and George (and Diane) Derry Jr., both of Colchester, Kim (and Jeff) Derry of Pekin, Peggy (and Dale) Utter and Khristy Carney, both of Rushville, James Derry and Erika (and Dustin) Spears, both of Beardstown, Tim Derry of Macomb, Josh Buchanan of Industry and Misty (and Cody) Markley of Table Grove; three brothers, Clarence “Corky” (and Linda) Pate of Rushville, Tom (and Amber) Pate of Beardstown and Robert Cassady of Jacksonville; two sisters, Sandy Fox of Beardstown and Katrina (and Ben) Hull of Rushville; three stepsisters, Marcia Knous, Judy Hawk and Brenda Gaus, all of Beardstown; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
When she was younger she was in a bowling league and sold Avon and Tupperware.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Jason Tripplett officiating. Burial will follow in Brooklyn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday.
