Steven H. Detrick, 45, of Marquette Heights died at 6:45 a.m. June 9, 2014, in Canton.

He was born Oct. 23, 1968, in Peoria, a son of Robert and Marilyn Black Detrick. He married Penny Johnston on Dec. 26, 1999, in Easton. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Thomas Schlie of Galesburg; one stepson, Toby (and Misty) Tungate of Springfield; one stepdaughter, Shannon Tungate of Springfield; parents, Robert and Marilyn Detrick of Easton; two brothers, Daniel (and Julie) Detrick of Huntsville, Ala., and William (and Keirsten Anderson) Detrick of Davenport, Iowa; eight step grandchildren; and one grandmother, June Black of Lewistown.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.

He worked at Caterpillar in Morton as maintenance supervisor 2 for 26 years.

He was in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He was a member of Fidler’s Investment Club and was a private pilot.

He graduated from Easton High School in 1986 and graduated Machine Repairman Apprenticeship Program for CAT.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Reverend Al Sample officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the memorial home. Burial will be in Apple Cemetery in Lewistown.
