She was born Feb. 23, 1934, in Beardstown, a daughter of Louis B. and Pauline U. Lowden Avery. She married Bernard Dixon on Jan. 23, 1954, in Olathe, Kan. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Toni (and Kevin) Heathcoat of Peoria; one son, Kevin (and Lori) Dixon of Chillicothe; one stepdaughter, Diane (and Mike) Funcannon of Cassville, Mo.; one brother, Bob (and Sue) Avery of Rushville; two sisters, Betty Ann (and Howard) Icenogle of Beardstown and Linda (and Lyle) Taylor of Beardstown; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gale and Larry Avery.
She was a homemaker.
Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Mike Icenogle officiating. Burial was in Bluff City Cemetery in Browning.
