BETTY F. (OAKMAN) STRUBLE DeWITT

Betty DeWitt

Betty F. DeWitt, 74, of Browning died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Macomb, a daughter of Frank Issac and Bessie Faye Brown Oakman. She married Fred Earl Struble in 1947 in Macomb. He died in 1965. She married Sidney Charles DeWitt on June 3, 1966, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Linda (and David) Severns of Browning, Carol (and Richard) Walters of Mason City and Joan (and Robert) Hamlin of Bartonville; one son, John Struble of Browning; one stepdaughter, Kathy (and Bob) Niestradt of Shelbyville; three stepsons, Steve (and Joann) DeWitt and Dan DeWitt, both of Texas and Mike DeWitt of California; one brother, Sterling (and Mary Ellen) Oakman of Colchester; one sister, Katherine Nelson of Colchester; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one infant son, Robert Allen Struble; and 10 brothers and sisters.

She was a member of Central Christian Church in Browning where services were held Monday. Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.
