ROLAN E. “BUD” DERRY

Rolan E. "Bud" Derry, 73, of Lewistown died at 8:35 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at his home.

He was born April 12, 1928, in Fulton County, a son of Arthur H. and Grace M. Guiliams Derry. He married Alta Martindale on Aug. 25, 1950, in Lewistown. She died April 19, 1966. He later married Mary Martindale in August 1966.

Surviving are two sons, Ed (and Shelly) of Lewistown and John (and Valerie) of Cuba; two daughters, Debbie (and John) Lowry of Canton and Jo Ellen (and Chuck) Hardy of Lewistown; four step-children; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Doris Hulsey of Canton and Margret (and Paul) Green of Industry.

Four brothers, one sister and one stepdaughter preceded him in death.

A Korean War Army veteran, he was a member of Lewistown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5001.

He was a retired farmer and fertilizer salesman. He also had worked as a painter for many years. He was a member of Canton Moose Lodge.

Services were held Tuesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Brian Ebert officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, with military rites conducted by his Veterans of Foreign Wars post and American Legion Post 1.

Memorials may be made to Fulton County Chapter of the American Cancer Society or his Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
