Edward Durell

Edward F. Durell, 91, of Beardstown, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born May 28, 1908, in Beardstown, the son of Harry "Doodle" and Luvenia A. Wayman Durell. He married Pearl Marie Frakes on June 6, 1944, in Beardstown. She preceded him in death on Aug. 7, 1999.

Surviving are two sons, Donald (and Bonnie) and Junior (and Connie), both of Beardstown; two daughters, Luvenia "Beanie" (and Gene) Wray of New Albany, Miss., and Rosie Brockley (and Bill) of Astoria; two stepdaughters, Martina (and Glen) Westlake of Astoria and Mary Kimbro of Silva; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He worked as an engineer for the Valley Barge Line and Material Service for 30 years until his retirement in 1968.

Services were held Tuesday at the Cline-Goodwin Funeral Home. Burial was in the Beardstown City Cemetery.
