Martina Westlake

Martina M. Westlake, 74, of Astoria died at 6:22 a.m. Feb. 13, 2019, at her home.

She was born March 15, 1944, in Beardstown, a daughter of John and Pearl Frakes Hardy. She married Glen Allen Westlake on Nov. 18, 1961, in Beardstown. He survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Scott (and Alice) Westlake of Astoria and Gene Westlake and Stanley Westlake, both of Browning; one half brother, Donald (and Bonnie) Durell of Browning; two half sisters, Beane Ray of Mississippi and Rosie (and Bill) Brockley of Astoria; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Mark Edward Westlake; two sisters, Mary Kimbro and Velma Bloom; one brother, Sherman Hardy; and one half brother, Junior Durell.

She worked at Dana Corporation in Havana. She also worked at the Illinois Glove factory, later the Ansell Hawkeye Glove factory, in Beardstown.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Jeremy Westlake officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to an area church of donor’s choice or the Astoria Lions Club.
