VeteranOrville L. Davis Of Astoria Dies

Orville L. Davis, 75, of Astoria, died at 11:35 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 1985, at Culbertson Memroail Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Sept. 7, 1909, in McDonough County, a son of Joseph D. and Bertha E. (Wardell) Davis.

Survivors include one son, Ronald Davis; one daughter, Mary Lee; two brothers, Whitney Davis of Astoria and Harold Davis of Springfield; and four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Scrogum and Mrs. Margaret Danner, both of Astoria, Mrs. Geneva Brewer of Havana and Mrs. Josephene Behnke of Bloomington.

He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, three brothers, and three sisters.

He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Astoria American Legion Post 25 and Lewistown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5001.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Astoria Cemetery with Collis Trone officiating.
