She was born April 13, 1926, in Wenona, a daughter of Albert Clinton and Hannah Williams Fulkerson. She married Eugene A. Corbin on Jan. 30, 1946. He preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 2005.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Larry E. Corbin; five brothers, Harold at birth, Raymond Fulkerson, Lester Fulkerson, Harley Fulkerson, Harvey Fulkerson; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Jo Corbin, William K. Park and Marvin Corbin.
Surviving are one daughter, Susan K. (and Archie) Whewell of Versailles; two sons, Randall D. (and Emma) Corbin of Live Oak, Fla. and Kenneth A. (and Joyce) Corbin of Rushville; and seven grandchildren.
She graduated from Wenona High School in 1943 and worked at Owen’s IL Glass Co. in Streator, during WWII. They began their farming career near Streator then in 1951 they moved to Brown County where they farmed for many years. In later years she worked at Dennis Chicken in Augusta, Motorola in Quincy, Illinois Glove Co., in Beardstown. She retired from Beardstown Wal-Mart in 2000.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Jeremy Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in Ripley Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday.
