Gary CrumGary Roger Crum, 83, of Rushville died at 7:47 a.m. March 21, 2022, at Heritage Health in Beardstown.

He was born Aug. 8, 1938, in Coffeen, a son of Glen and Maxine Sills Crum. He married Judith Ann Rebman on July 13, 1958, in Rushville. She preceded him in death on May 27, 2013.

Surviving are one daughter, Brenda (and Dave) Eyler of Rushville; one son, Michael (and Amy) Crum of Rushville; one brother, Richard (and Kathy) Crum of Rushville; one sister, Maralene (and Ron) Downs of Rushville; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was a 1956 graduate of Rushville High School and then served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1956-58. He received a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Western Illinois University in 1969.

He worked for Caterpillar in Peoria for a few years before returning to Rushville to work for Schuyler Telephone Company, which later became Frontier Communications until he retired as manager.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He served on the Schuyler County Fair Board for 22 years and served as a past regional director of the Illinois Jaycees. He was a past chairman of the Schuyler County Board. He was a founding member of the Loyal Order of Old Pharts.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Mr. David Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery with Military Honors by Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and a U.S. Marine Honor Detail. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
