Brixtyn CoxBrixtyn Travis Bryant Cox, 4-month-old son of Travis Cox and Kelsie Ashcraft of Rushville died at 7:14 a.m., May 2, 2020, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Dec. 21, 2019, in Jacksonville.

Surviving are his mom and dad of Rushville; one brother, Zaiden, at home; maternal grandparents, Hedy Ackman of Rushville, Steve and Kathy Ashcraft of Browning and Rob Funke of Rushville; paternal grandmother, Kathy Kline of Rushville; maternal great-grandparents, Judy and Bob Greer, Jon and Candy Ackman and Marilyn Cahill, all of Rushville; paternal great-grandparents, Ralph and Doris Devore of Rushville; three aunts, Stevie (and companion Eric Wohlfeil) Gray, Madison Funke and Casey (and Josh) Chelette; and numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jeff Cox; maternal great-grandfather, Robert “Bob” Ashcraft; and paternal great-grandparents, Travis “Pops” and Janette “Nanny” Bryant and Bonny and Forrest Cain.

He was a very happy baby who loved sucking his thumb and being outdoors. When he was excited, he would jabber and smile at whoever was holding him. He loved his brother and enjoyed spending time with him. He was deeply loved by all of his family.

Due to the current health situation and directives from the Illinois Governor and the CDC, private graveside services were held Tuesday at the Rushville City Cemetery with Pastor Jason Triplett officiating. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
