Forrest Cain

Forrest CainForrest B. Cain, 89, of Rushville died at 3:40 a.m. Nov. 10, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born Aug. 15, 1922, in Clayton, a son of Ben Emery and Lula Hamilton Cain. He married Virginia Feld in August 1944 in Mount Sterling. She preceded him in death in 1976. He later married Bonny Travis Devore on May 28, 1982, in Browning. She survives.

Also surviving are children, Rodney (and Sheila) Cain, Connie (and Pat) High and Benny (and Holly) Cain, all of Rushville, Casey Cain-Henricks of Clarksville, Tenn., Ralph Devore of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Kathy (and Ricky) Fortenberry of Rushville; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Vernon Cain.

He was a lifelong farmer. He worked for Farmers Service in Glasford for 20 years. He owned and operated Rushville Motors for 44 years, retiring in 2005.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Clayton Masonic Lodge, Ansar Shrine and served on the Schuyler County Fair Board for 25 years.

Graveside services were held Friday at Rushville City Cemetery with Mark Bledsoe officiating. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
