She was born Sept. 2, 1948, in Marion, a daughter of Noble and Geraldine Gibson Dawson. She married Lloyd C. Clayton on Oct. 12, 1985, in Marion. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2012.
Surviving are three brothers-in-law, Edward (and Pam) Clayton of Canton, Robert (and Sharon) Clayton of Naples and Jack (and Cindy) Clayton of Macomb; two sisters-in-law, Mary Howard and Dorothy (and Junior) Reische, both of Rushville; three step brothers-in-law, Bill (and Helen) Lucas of Rushville, John (and Ellen) Lucas of South Dakota and Mike Vaughn of Ipava; two step sisters-in-law, Dorothy K. (and Lyle) Lambert of Indiana and Joanne Greene of Astoria.
She was a certified nurse's aide and did charitable work for area organizations and churches.
Graveside services were held Friday at Astoria City Cemetery with Mr. David Haney officiating.
