Hazel CrumHazel Ruth Crum, 88, of rural Rushville died at 4:40 a.m. March 14, 2008, at the Culbertson Long Term Care Facility in Rushville.

She was born Nov. 17, 1919, in Buena Vista Township, Schuyler County, a daughter of R. Ernest and Minnie Johnson Vogler. She married William A. Crum on Aug. 15, 1937, in Rushville. He died Jan. 3, 1994.

She also was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Michael DeWitt; one brother, Clinton Vogler; and one sister, Irene Cripe.

Surviving are four daughters, Jane DeWitt and Becky Crum, both of Rushville, Vera Hammerslough of Champaign and Ruby (and Leon) Passmore of Mount Sterling; one sister, Mildred Nell of Rushville; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

She farmed with her husband, was a life long homemaker and worked for Tranquil Gardens in Macomb.

She was a former member of Schuyler Farm Bureau and Schuyler Home Extension.

Services were held Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Robert Kirkham officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
