Josephine ConstableJosephine Morrell Constable, 86, of Rushville died at 9:50 a.m. May 27, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born Sept. 2, 1920, in Schuyler County, a daughter of James and Myrtle Illman Cunningham. She first married W. Wayne Morrell on Jan. 14, 1939, in Kahoka, Mo. He died Jan. 6, 1980. She later married Raymond Constable on Dec. 3, 1982, in Rushville. He died Feb. 20, 1991.

She also was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Garrett Grover; one stepbrother, Wendell Ward; and one stepsister, Sara Logsdon.

Surviving are three daughters, Connie (and Maynard) Hulvey, Nancy (and Larry) Lashbrook and Joyce Prather, all of Rushville; two stepdaughters, Joyce (and Royce) Headley of Macomb and Nancy Toland of Rushville; one sister, Virginia Wheelhouse of Rushville; two stepsisters, Joan (and Gale) Hanning of Rushville and Carole (and Russell) Wells of Roodhouse; one stepbrother, Lyle Ward of Tempe, Ariz.; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

She was a farmer, working with her husband Wayne on the family farm. She later worked for the Schuyler County Board of Review.

She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville, Buena Vista Mother’s Club, and Rushville Business and Professional Women’s Club.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at her church with Rev. Dr. E. Ambrose officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to her church’s organ fund or Culbertson Gardens.
