Connie HulveyConnie Sue Hulvey, 70, of Rushville died at 9:38 a.m. Sept. 3, 2014, at her home.

She was born June 7, 1944, in Rushville, a daughter of W. Wayne and Josephine Cunningham Morrell. She married Maynard Hulvey on Sept. 21, 1963, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Beth (and Tom) Grover of Rushville; one son, Mike Hulvey of Rushville; two sisters, Nancy (and Larry) Lashbrook and Joyce Prather, both of Rushville; two stepsisters, Joyce (and Royce) Headley of Macomb and Nancy Toland of Rushville; five grandchildren; and one step grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Garrett Grover; and her father, W. Wayne Morrell and mother and stepfather, Josephine and Raymond Constable.

A 1962 graduate of Rushville High School, prior to her marriage she first worked as an operator for Schuyler Telephone. After her marriage, she then was a secretary for Country Companies Insurance. She also worked for Wheelhouse TV for 17 years, Emporium Shoe Store and as a teller at Schuyler State Bank for 18 years, retiring in 2007. After her retirement, she worked as a receptionist and funeral assistant at Wood Funeral Home, a teller at Marine Bank and at Schuyler County Clerk’s office. For many years she was the assessor for Buena Vista Township.

She was a member of the former Curry Chapel and Bethany churches near Camden and currently a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville. She was a former member of Rushville Women’s Club.

Services were held Saturday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Reverend John Sowers officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
