Leroy Clemens

Leroy E. Clemens, 79, of Astoria died at 11:28 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Nov. 18, 1921, in Pleasant Township, Fulton County, a son of Lee R. and Viola Parsley Clemens. He married Betty Wickert on Dec. 23, 1943, in Ipava. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Joyce (and Wayne) Stambaugh of Browning and Christy (and Keith) Lehman and Jean (and Herb Jr.) Crossman, both of Vermont; one son, Alan (and Georgiana) of Astoria; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

He was a farmer in the Astoria area.

He was a member of Astoria Christian Church, where services were held today at 11 a.m. with Gary Sheets officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery near Astoria. Shawgo Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to his church or Astoria Lion's Club.
