Nora Cain

Nora (O’Hern) Cain, 98, of Hennessey, Okla., died Saturday, Nov. 4, 1995 at the Hennessey Care Center.

She was born in a dug out Aug. 23, 1897, at Columbia Community, Okla., a daughter of Patrick S. and Jane (Duncan) O’Hern. She married Samuel Glenn Cain Aug. 25, 1919 at Enid, Okla. He preceded her in death Dec. 4, 1960. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Iris; her parents; four brothers and one great-grandson.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen and her husband, Charles Hobbs of Hennessey; four sons, Gayle (Wanda) Cain of Livermore, Calif., A. B. Cain of Dover, Okla., Laverne (Doris) Cain of Albuquerque, N.M., Wiley (Wanette) Cain of Altus, Okla.; six brothers, Ray O’Hern of Mounds, Okla., Roy O’Hern of Caddo, Okla., Charley O’Hern of Hennessey, Okla., Clyde O’Hern of Phoenix, Ariz., Wayne O’Hern of Tucson, Ariz., and Stanford “Bud” O’Hern of Vermont; two sisters, Flossie Gallup of Stratford, Okla., and Winnifred Pryor of Tulsa, Okla.; 14 grandchildren, including Cathy O’Hern Crane of Macomb; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Cain was a member of the Oak Grove Christian Church, Rebekah Lodge, Columbia Home Demonstration Club and the Oak Grove Ladies Aid.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Oak Grove Christian Church in Hennessey with Rev. L. D. Choate officiating. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Cordryo-Sisson Funeral Home of Hennessey was in charge of arrangements.
