William E. Cluney, 73, died at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 1990, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born June 12, 1917, in Marbletown, a son of Stella Tarvin. He married Delores Toland on May 19, 1938, in Keokuk, Iowa. She died May 31, 1985.
He also was preceded in death by one brother.
Surviving are three sons, Richard of Pekin, Gale of Peoria and Dennis of Beardstown; five grandchildren; four brothers, Darrell “Bud” Cluney of Astoria, Ernest Darling of Arkansas, Eldon Darling of Edelstein and Lauren Darling; and four sisters, Nelda Hamm of Washington, Ill., Wanda Anderson of Peoria, Flossie Flowers of Havana and Gertrude Lancaster.
He worked for Doubet-Coartney Implement Co. in Edelstein, retiring in 1975.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at LaPrairie United Presbyterian Church Cemetery in LaPrairie with Rev. John Throop officiating. Weber Funeral Home in Chillicothe is in charge of arrangements.
