He was born Jan. 1, 1952, in Canton, a son of Isaac and Ferne Kessler Bucher. He married Marsha Shields on June 30, 1973. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, April Bucher Hoffmeister; one son, Aaron (and Bailey) Bucher; one brother, Robert Bucher; two sisters, Alice Clanin and Carolyn Bricker; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Ferne Bucher; and three brothers, Willie Bucher, Jim Bucher and Tom Bucher.
He grew up in Summum, and graduated from Astoria High School.
He was a carpenter by trade, and if something was broken, chances are he could fix it.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, at Astoria Cemetery in Astoria with Pastor Tyler Watson officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Astoria Rescue Squad or the Astoria American Legion Post 25.
