Jack BloomfieldJack Albert Bloomfield, 92, of Monument, Colo., died Jan. 12, 2025.

He was born May 17, 1932, in Kansas City, Mo., and adopted by Otis and Grace Bloomfield as an infant.

He graduated from Astoria High School. He enlisted in the Air Force and was a gunner on the B-29 and B-50 Bombers during the Korean War.

He attended Bradley University while working at Caterpillar in Peoria. He was a Branch Manager for E.F. Hutton, from where he retired.

He was a church and community leader wherever he lived: Illinois, Wisconsin and Colorado.

Surviving are two sons, Mark (and Debra) Bloomfield and Patrick (and Nancy) Bloomfield; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis.

There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Saturday, in his childhood hometown of Astoria, at the Astoria Cemetery with Reverend Robert Greene officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Astoria American Legion Post #25. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
